Russian Helicopters firm backlog grows
The Russian Helicopters holding company had 828 firm orders worth 350 billion rubles (about $10 billion) in July. The backlog had grown by 11 orders from 817 units at the end of 2012. The holding’s CEO Dmitry Petrov says all production capacities are fully booked through to 2020. The company has no loss-making or low-margin long-term contracts, Petrov says. Export orders generate most of the Russian Helicopters profit.
The company’s RAS net profit more than doubled year-on-year in the first six months of 2013, reaching 2.97 billion rubles. Half-year revenue remained virtually unchanged at 748.245 billion rubles, against the 748.455 billion reported for the first six months of 2012.
As of 2013, the Russian Helicopters enterprises had built 35% of the global combat helicopter fleet, 17% of all heavy helicopters with over 20 t. MTOW, and 56% of all helicopters with 8 to 15 t. MTOW. The company holds 85% of the Russian rotorcraft market and 14% of international helicopter sales. There are plans to bring the latter figure up to 20%.
