“We intend to continue with our practice of meeting the delivery targets for new military aircraft”
The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has the Russian Defense Ministry as the largest demonstrator of its products at this year’s Army forum. Nearly all the types of military aircraft currently built by UAC are in service with the country’s Air Force. President Yury Slyusar told Show Observer about the corporation’s cooperation with the national military.

Yury Slyusar,
President, United Aircraft Corporation
— The Russian Defense Ministry is one of the UAC’s largest customers. How successfully have you been delivering under the state defense order in the past few years? How many aircraft are planned to be delivered this year?
— Ever since the State Armament Program 2020 was launched in 2011, the UAC has been delivering more and more combat aircraft as part of the state defense order: there were 19 in 2011, 35 in 2012, 66 in 2013, 88 in 2014, and 96 in 2015. This year we intend to continue with our practice of meeting the delivery targets for new military aircraft. On the other hand, we realize that the state defense order is set to be changing in the future, which will result in fewer orders for new warplanes. Therefore, we are adjusting ourselves and working to sell more to foreign markets. We hope this will help us keep up our current output rate. Overall, in keeping with this year’s plans, we intend to deliver around 250 aircraft to the Russian Air Force: these will include new airframes, as well as repaired and upgraded warplanes.
