Volga-Dnepr Technics Joins Superjet MRO Team
Volga-Dnepr Technics is lining up to become an authorized regional maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) provider for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ 100). On the first day of MAKS 2011 Super Jet International and Volga-Dnepr Technics (VDT) have signed a Letter of Intent that will see VDT join the Superjet network of Authorized Service Centers, and provide regular 7,500-hour C-checks for aircraft.
“Volga-Dnepr Technics is one of the most prestigious MRO providers in the region,” SuperJet International CEO Carlo Logli told ShowObserver, “the company is expanding in the Middle East and Europe and is highly though of in the West.”
VDT is expanding and opening new facilities in Moscow, Sharjah and Leipzig but will probably put the Superjet work in its main facility at Ulyanovsk.
“The Superjet 100 is an aircraft from the East and the West,” says Volga-Dnepr Technics CEO Victor Sherin, “and we are a company with that Eastern and Western experience.”
Superjet International notes that 70 of the first 100 SSJ 100s delivered will be to customers in Russia and the CIS. The company estimates that the first C-check will be due in 2013, but this could come sooner.
