HeliRussia 2014 setting new records

The 7th HeliRussia international helicopter industry exhibition, which opened at Moscow’s Crocus Expo today, takes up 20% more hall space than the previous year’s event. A total of 212 companies from 20 countries are exhibiting at a combined area of 14,000 sq.m. Mikhail Kazachkov, chairman of the HeliRussia organizer Russian Helicopter Industry Association, says this year’s exhibition eclipses London’s HeliTech and Dubai’s HeliShow in terms of size and scale.
About 50 foreign exhibitors are present, another increase from last year. The US and EU political sanctions over Ukraine have not stopped the international manufacturers from attending, the HeliRussia 2014 organizers say. In fact, one of the grandest expositions this year belongs to the Ukrainian engine house Motor Sich. HeliRussia displays a broad range of products by Russian, European and US helicopter specialists. There are 21 aircraft in the static park.
The organizers expect the business program to draw more than 1,300 Russian and international participants.
