Sukhoi assembles 100th Su-34

Novosibirsk Aircraft Plant, a subsidiary of Sukhoi Company, United Aircraft Corporation, has rolled out the 100th Su-34 frontline bomber. The celebration of the milestone aircraft took place at the plant on August 19. Sukhoi Company representative told Show Observer the aircraft will be delivered to the Russian Defense Ministry until the end of the year.
Su-34 is the main product of the Novosibirsk aircraft plant today. The government contract with the Russian Defense Ministry on the delivery of these aircraft for the Russian Aerospace Forces is scheduled till 2020 and “provides a stable enterprise load in the coming years and defines the long-term prospects of its development”, — repoted Sukhoi Company.
The Russian military is expected to receive a total of 150 to 200 Su-34 aircraft, the agency TASS reports. Earlier, the Russian Aerospace Forces’ Commander Viktor Bondarev noted that these aircraft will replace not only the Su-24 bombers in the future but also Su-25 ground attack aircraft. This July, Deputy Defense Minister announced plans for the upcoming modernization of the Su-34, including aircraft life extension and the number of aircraft weapons increase, says the Defense Ministry website.
